AL KINDI

Abu Yusuf ya'qub Ibn Ishaq as Sabah al-kindi born in 801 AD in Kufa he is known as the first Muslim philosopher During his life besides being able to speak Arabic he was proficient in Greek and Syriac in the western world he is known as alkindus Al-kindi was born into an Arab family who belonged to the kindah tribe one of the great tribes of the South Arabian Peninsula His father was a Governor in Kufa during the reign of the Abbasid Caliph when he was little al-kindi's father died Even though he's an orphan, he doesn't just give up or give up in studying Alkindi received her first education at Kufa He then left to complete his education in Baghdad because of his intelligence the caliph al-ma'mun then asked him to teach at the Baitulhikmah Al-kindi is a book translator many works of Greek philosophers Translated into Arabic, among others, the work of Aristotle and plotinus 

Al-kindi collected various philosophical works in a manner encyclopedic which was then completed by Ibn Sina a century later According to al-kindi the function of philosophy is not to sue the truth of Revelation or to demand presumptuous superiority and demand equality with Revelation Philosophy may not apply demands as the highest road towards the truth and humble himself as a support for Wahyu He defines philosophy as knowledge of everything as far as the reach of human knowledge Therefore al-kindi firmly said that philosophy has limitations and that he cannot overcome problems such as the miracles of heaven and hell afterlife Al-Kindi has written many works in various disciplines from ethical metaphysics Logic and psychology to medicine pharmacological Mathematics astrology and optics also covers practical topics such as perfume sword zoology, glass meteorology and earthquake there are more or less 240 successful works the completion in mathematics al-kindi plays an important role in introducing Indian figures to the Islamic world and later Arabic numbers to the Christian world along with al-khawarizmi
